Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Everbook ("we", "us", "our") designs and prints custom photo albums, operated by EFFET DESIGN, registered in Lebanon under commercial registry number 1015439, with its registered office at Achrafieh, building 5134, Sioufi Street, Lebanon. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through everbook-album.com and our related services (together, the "Service"), why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you. For any question about this policy or your data, you can contact us through our Contact page. This is an English translation of our French privacy policy. In case of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
2. Information we collect
Account information: your name, your email address and your account password (stored as a secure one-way hash, never in plain text) when you create an account directly; or your name, your email address and a unique account identifier when you sign in with Google — in that case we never see or store your Google password. Photos and album content: the photos, captions, titles and layout choices you upload or create while building an album, including the photos you choose to import from Google Photos (see section 4). Photo files may contain metadata recorded by your camera or phone, such as the date the photo was taken and, if your device recorded it, its GPS location. We also generate technical data from your photos — such as sharpness scores, similarity/duplicate signals and where faces are in the picture — only to help our editor suggest layouts, frame the photos and spot likely duplicate photos. Face detection is used only for framing: it never identifies anyone. Order and delivery information: your delivery address, your phone number and the order details (album format, number of pages, price, currency, the version of the terms of sale you accepted and when you accepted it) needed to produce and deliver your album. Feedback and support messages: anything you write to us through the Contact page, by email or through the feedback form offered after your order is delivered. Technical information: standard web request data such as your IP address, browser type and device type, collected automatically by our hosting and security infrastructure to keep the Service running reliably and securely (for example in server logs). When a technical error occurs, an error report (error message, page concerned, browser, device and IP address) is sent to our error-monitoring service (Sentry) so that we can fix it. We use no third-party advertising trackers and never sell any data collected this way. Storage in your browser: the Service saves in your browser's local storage your sign-in session, your language choice, the user guides you have already seen and, where applicable, a backup copy of changes to your album that could not be saved yet (for example when your connection drops). This information stays on your device and is not used for any advertising tracking.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to: create and secure your account; let you build, save and edit your album; process, produce and ship your order; send you service emails — welcome email, email address verification (only if you sign up with an email and password), order confirmation, shipping and delivery updates, a feedback request after delivery, a reminder when an album you started is unfinished or about to be deleted, password reset and password-changed confirmations, and account deletion confirmation; respond to your questions and feedback; and detect and prevent fraud, abuse or technical problems. We do not use your photos or personal information for advertising, and we do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Google user data (Sign in with Google and import from Google Photos)
Sign in with Google — what we access: if you choose to sign in with Google, we request only your basic Google profile information through Google's standard OpenID Connect sign-in — your name, your email address and a unique Google account identifier. We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google contacts or any other Google Workspace data, and we never see or store your Google password. Import from Google Photos: if you choose to add photos from Google Photos, you select them yourself in Google's official picker. We retrieve only the photos you selected, to add them to your album; we have no access to any other photo, album or information in your Google Photos account. The access permission provided by Google is used only for the duration of that import and is not kept. Imported photos are then handled exactly like the photos you upload from your device. How we use it: we use this information only to create and authenticate your Everbook account, recognise you when you sign in again, add the photos you chose to your album, and send you the service emails described in section 3. We do not use Google user data to train any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. Who we share it with: we do not share, transfer, sell or disclose Google user data to any third party, and we do not send your Google account data to the Gemini API or any other AI service (see section 6 for the exact use of the Gemini API — it never receives Google account data, only an anonymised comparison of two of your photos, and only in ambiguous duplicate-detection cases). Photos you import from Google Photos follow the same path as your other photos (printing and delivery of your order, section 6). The only exception is where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Everbook, our users or others. Retention and deletion: we keep the Google profile information linked to your account for as long as your account exists; imported photos are kept under the same rules as your other photos (section 5). If you delete your Everbook account from your account page or ask us to delete your data (section 8), we delete this information as part of that process. You can also revoke Everbook's access to your Google account at any time from the "Third-party apps & services" settings of your Google account; this prevents any new sign-in with Google but does not automatically delete your Everbook account. Optional access: Sign in with Google and importing from Google Photos are options. The whole Service is available with an account created with an email and password, and by uploading your photos from your device.
5. How long we keep your information
Albums in progress: an album you have not ordered is automatically deleted, together with its photos, 30 days after it was created. Unused photos: photos you uploaded that were not included in the final layout of an ordered album are deleted once your order's print file has been generated. Ordered albums: once you place an order, we keep the album, its photos and the order history for as long as your account exists, so that you can find your album again or ask for a reprint, and so that we can handle any after-sales question. Account information: kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your account page ("Delete my account"): your account, albums and photos are then permanently deleted. The basic information of your past orders (date, amount, product ordered, delivery address, status) is kept for as long as our legal, accounting and tax obligations require, without any photo. Deletion is not possible while an order is being produced or delivered. Contact and feedback messages: kept for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your request and keep a history of exchanges with our support.
6. Who we share your information with
We only share what each party needs to do its job, and we never sell your data: • Our printing partner receives your order's final print file (your photos and layout) to produce your physical album. • Our delivery partner receives your name, delivery address and phone number to deliver your order. • Google, when you choose to sign in with Google or import photos from Google Photos, confirms your identity to us or sends us the photos you selected; how we handle this data is described in section 4. • Google's Gemini API: this service is separate from Sign in with Google and never receives your Google account data. While your album is being created, a small number of your uploaded photos may be compared automatically to detect possible duplicates. When our own systems cannot decide with certainty between two very similar photos, an anonymised visual comparison of those two photos only (without your name, email address or any Google account or sign-in data) is sent to Google's Gemini API, only to help decide which photo to suggest keeping. This only concerns ambiguous cases, not all your photos, and only to provide this feature of the Service — never for advertising or to train third-party models with your data. We access the Gemini API through a paid plan (Google Cloud): under the terms of service that apply to this plan, Google does not use the data sent this way to train or improve its own models; only time-limited retention for abuse detection and security purposes may apply on Google's side. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in improving the quality of the album we deliver to you. • Our error-monitoring service (Sentry) receives the technical error reports described in section 2, only so that we can fix problems with the Service. • Our infrastructure providers that host our application, database and file storage (including our cloud hosting and object storage providers) process data on our behalf, under contractual confidentiality obligations, and do not use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Everbook, our users or others.
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including: encryption of data in transit via HTTPS across the whole Service; storing passwords as irreversible cryptographic hashes, never in plain text; and restricting access to your photos and files through private, non-public cloud storage, with signed and time-limited access links rather than permanent public URLs. The order information needed to produce and deliver your album (such as your delivery address and the files concerned) is sent to our printing and delivery partners by email. We are working to strengthen this transmission process. Sensitive data such as your password and sign-in credentials are never stored in plain text or shared outside Everbook. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we strive to protect your information according to industry standards.
8. Your rights and choices
You can view and update your account information (name, email, password) at any time from your account page. You can ask us to correct inaccurate information. You can delete your account and the associated data yourself — including any Google sign-in data we hold — from your account page ("Delete my account"), or ask us to do it through our Contact page; we will respond to and handle reasonable requests within a reasonable time. If you signed up with Google, you can also revoke the permissions granted to Everbook at any time directly from your Google account settings.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors who are below the age required to consent to such processing in their country of residence. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us so that we can delete it. Sign in with Google is an optional feature. The whole Service remains available without a Google account, in line with the requirements that apply to general-audience services.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. If we make significant changes, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, where relevant, invite you to review the permissions linked to your Google account again. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
11. Contact us
For any question about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, please contact us through our Contact page or at orders@everbook-album.com; we will be happy to help.
